About SouthlandSport
SouthlandSport is an independent US gambling review site. We test offshore sportsbooks, online casinos and crypto casinos with our own money, time every withdrawal, and rank operators on how they actually perform — not on how much they pay us. This page explains who we are, how we work, and why we tell you the honest trade-offs of playing offshore.
Our mission
Most of the United States still has no legal, state-regulated way to bet on sports or play online casino games. That gap is exactly where offshore operators — licensed in places like Curaçao and Panama — accept American players in all 50 states. There is a lot of information about these sites online, and most of it is written by people who have never deposited a dollar. Our mission is simpler and harder: to give US players a straight answer about which offshore operators can be trusted, which pay quickly, and which to avoid.
We are not cheerleaders for offshore gambling. These operators carry no US-state consumer protection, no state-backed dispute process, and no state self-exclusion program. We say so on every review. If you live in a state with a legal, regulated market and you value that protection, we will tell you to use it. Our job is to be honest about the real choice most Americans face, and to make the safer decision within it obvious.
How we test
Every operator we rank goes through the same hands-on process before it earns a score:
- We deposit real money. We fund a live account — usually with both a card and crypto — so we can report which deposit methods actually work and which get declined.
- We place real bets and play real games. We use the sportsbook, spin the slots, and sit at the tables so we can judge odds, market depth, live betting and game libraries first-hand.
- We time every withdrawal. Payout reliability and speed is the single most important factor we measure. We request cashouts by crypto, card and wire, and record how long each one really takes.
- We complete KYC. We go through identity verification where it applies, so we can warn you about slow or intrusive checks before you deposit.
- We read the terms. Our editors fact-check every bonus against the operator's own written terms and conditions, so the rollover and wagering figures we quote match reality.
You can read the full scoring method — the six weighted factors and how we weight them — on our Editorial Policy & Review Methodology page.
Editorial independence
SouthlandSport earns affiliate commissions when a reader signs up through a link on this site, at no extra cost to the reader. That is how we fund the testing. It does not influence our rankings. Commission rates never factor into a score, an operator cannot pay to move up our lists, and we regularly rank operators that pay us less above operators that pay us more when the testing supports it. Where an operator falls short — slow payouts, thin markets, punishing rollover — we say so plainly, even when there is a commercial relationship. Our reputation with readers is worth far more than any single referral.
Who we are
SouthlandSport is written and edited by a small team of specialists: a lead betting analyst who has covered US sports betting since the 2018 PASPA repeal, a casino and payments editor who runs our withdrawal-timing and KYC tests, and a crypto gambling specialist who audits provably-fair games and on-chain payouts. You can read their full backgrounds, experience and areas of expertise on our Our Experts page. Every review on this site carries a named author, a named fact-checker, and a last-updated date so you always know who stands behind the work.
